Hi guys, Happy New Year! And HERE'S a unexpected double proposal I've been thinking about making in a long while!
What's the Work?[]
Larva (including Larva Island and Larva Family) is South Korean CGI animated zany slapstick comedy series centered on the story between two larvae caterpillars, who go from living in the gutter under a busy street where anything would fall through the drains and into their subterranean world, to living in the outside world as the duo examine all the strange and crazy things that happens every episode and tend to find a way to resolve said situation in a humorous, bizarre or sometimes dramatic way.
This show is usually featuring insects, animals (and sometimes humans} that derives itself on surreal humor/toliet humor and has tons of slapstick-inducing situations for the protagonists (and antagonists) to endure and develop friendships on the way.
Who Are They?[]

Red & Yellow are the titular protagonists of the series and the mascots for TUBA entertainment.
They are a "smart jerk and nice moron" type of duo where Red is full of pride and easily irritated but somehow finds himself in trouble in the end, and Yellow is a gross yet comically dumb scapegoat who remains loyal to Red despite putting up with Red's jerkish nature but tends to create unexpected situations because of his stupidity and clumsiness.
What Makes Them Shonen Heroes?[]
Basic Traits[]
- Heroic/Honorable: They have fought against an evil rat Grey as the two prevented him from destroying everyone on an island and prevented said rat from causing further (and more serious) havoc in New York by transforming into Power Ranger-esque superheroes.
- Courageous/Reckless: These two have enough bravery, and their adventures transcend out of their own recklessness.
- Energetic: They both are energized and have exuberant voices (Red having a high-pitched voice and Yellow having a deep booming voice). Where Red is the most hot-blooded and excitable, where Yellow is the most hyperactive.
- Stubborn: Red wants things to go his way even when everyone else says otherwise, and Yellow loves having food to himself and is QUITE stubborn.
- Pursues a Big-End Goal: They seek to become butterflies to leave a sewer, explore the world, help others (including kids) overcome negativity and live peacefully on their own.
- Hard-Working: ESPECIALLY Red suffering the most to get what he wants, and tends to put more effort in his endeavors than Yellow (and sometimes vice versa, depending on the episode).
- Unintelligent: They both are naive, impulsive and have moments of lacking common sense, with Yellow being usually the most dimwitted out of the two yet Red can also make dumb decisions as well at times, to the point where they both can seem dim in one way or another (and Red sometimes has moments of coming off as dumber than Yellow on occasion).
- Optimistic: They're both optimists with moments of doubt, Yellow usually has the most positive attitude regardless of the circumstance.
- Idealistic: Yellow tried to use and do so many things that doesn't sound or look logical, like trying to fly out of a confetti, to befriending a snake by just whistling, make himself limbs by just taping them on his body and making them move, making himself fly by farting, and somehow growing limbs by just playing conga drums with his tongue. Yellow SOMEHOW finds a way to make all of this work.
- Determined: They both refuses to give up, especially Yellow having moments of being strong-willed.
- Confident/Cocky: Red is arrogant and has a enormous ego, where Yellow has moments of showing a lot of confidence but isn't as cocky as Red is.
- Unpredictable: Yellow tends to be the most random, odd and eccentric between the two since nobody cannot figure out what he will do next, especially if Yellow shows off his tricksy side for good or bad reasons.
- Self-Sacrificing: These two have put themselves in harm's way before and have made personal sacrifices to protect others and each other.
- Resilient: These two have had plenty of failures and setbacks during their adventures in the first three seasons, and despite this, they rise up and somewhat become stronger as people due to learning a lot from their past decisions, and become even more tough in Larva Island.
Bonus Traits[]
- Believes in the Power of Friendship: These two value each other (and sometimes their friends).
- Oblivious to Love: Yellow, despite knowing how to charm Pink, was oblivious to Prussian's feelings due to Yellow eating a turkey and takes the body shape and unintentionally made Prussian have feelings for Yellow even though Yellow doesn't feel the same way.
- Possesses Plot Armor: These two survive through an endless amount of dangerous and deadly situations in every episode and always come back to life, even when they become ghosts or die temporarily just to come back alive in the next episode.
- Short-Tempered: Red is always this easy to irritate and often smacks and kicks Yellow on the face out of petty anger whenever Yellow does something stupid to agitate Red.
- Has Rivals/Mentors: They always have a rival in each season that isn't just a cartoonish sibling-type of brotherly rivalry.
- In Season 1, their rivals would usually be a beetle named Black and a Frog.
- In Season 2, their rivals were a Dog, a male bird Prussian, and Black makes an reappearance.
- In Season 3, their rivals were two dumb piegons (and sometimes the evil rat Grey).
- In Larva Island, they had a cartoonish rivalry with Chuck (the man stranded on said island) and Grey again one time.
- By Larva Family, the two had to deal with a cat chasing them before they found solidarity.
- Not to mention that in Season 1, Red once had a mentor that trained him martial arts to escape a bottle they were trapped in.
- Big Eaters/Drinkers: These two have a history of eating/drinking ridiculously large amounts of food/beverages that would (potentially) rival against the likes of Scooby and Shaggy.
- Mischievous: They both have their moments of causing mischief and chaos. Red sometimes pulls means pranks on Yellow (and sometimes others), whereas Yellow is often the most playful and would often pull off lots of harmless pranks on his friends more so than Red does, they both would taunt and tease each other as much as they do with others (especially when they get the better of their enemies), and the two generally cause silly trouble no matter what the setting and place is.
- Are Blood Knights: While the two can be cowardly and easily intimidated, they both have moments of enjoying combating each other (especially if they're both given powers to mess with and entertain each other with like strong arms).
- Forgiving: Yellow usually the one who easily forgives someone quicker than Red.
- Is a Primary-Color Champion: Red and Yellow being their names even (as well as having white teeth/eyes and sometimes show light-blue colors on their skin when they're deeply scared or afraid).
- Are Challenge Seekers: They both seek opportunities to learn something new and/or push past their limits, from Red trying to stare at Yellow for long amounts of time, to the many times Yellow tries to gain flight through surreal and absurd means.
- Is a Neglectful Parent: Shockingly, Yellow once showed terrible parenting skills when he had to raise a baby Mite, and lets him suck blood out of every living creature without thinking to stop him.
- Are Delinquents: These two always break rules of all regards on a regular basis, sometimes they do it out of fun like trying to pass a subway pass without proper identification (which got them sent flying back).
- Are Underdogs: They always face significant obstacles or are expected to lose, yet they sometimes fight against the odds with determination and resilience to survive.
- Is a True Hero: Red eventually had sacrifice his own personal interests for the greater good.
- Has a Battle Cry/Calls Out Attacks: While they normally have this sound whenever there's an intense moment, their sound effects also applies in battle as well, these include:
- EEEEEEERRRRRRRR!!!! (Red)
- THHHHHHAAAAAAA!!!! (Yellow)
- Is a Shotoclone: Red has a rising physical attack where he kicks like a martial artist does.
- Street-Smart: For all of their goofiness and bumbling/accident-prone tendencies, they have shown to be capable of navigating certain difficult situations with some practical knowledge and creativity in one way or another (especially Yellow), which helped them survive against a pigeon once, survive against a horde of seagulls hunting after them (by using a fish and make it shoot balls at it), and surprisingly, Yellow can sometimes be a genius strategist when he uses his mind and makes wise choices, such as the time he tricked the rat Grey into slamming into a icicle during a chase.
Final Verdict?[]
I feel like these two earn an easy Yes, but what do you guys think??
