Time to have my first try at Shonen Heroes Wiki. And I'm starting right away even without any edits, because the criteria seems pretty easy to understand.
What's The Work?[]
Sonic the Hedgehog is a video game franchise about a blue hedgehog named Sonic, who, alongside his friends, fights Dr. Eggman and stops his schemes to take over the world. They fight other villains too.
Who Is She?[]
Amy Rose is one of the tritagonists of the Sonic series. One of Sonic's closest allies, Amy has a crush on Sonic and is an optimist who is eager to help her friends despite the circumstances (e.g., her lack of powers in the Adventure games).
What Makes Her A Shonen Heroine?[]
Basic Traits[]
- Heroic/Honorable: Obviously, as she's an approved Pure Good. She will go out of her way to reunite a Flicky with their family, redeemed Shadow the Hedgehog, thus being one of the largest contributors to saving the world from the Biolizard, and helping Sonic defeat The End in Frontiers.
- Courageous: She never gives up to achieve her goals, even if the odds are against her. This is shown in Adventure, where despite being weaker than Sonic or Knuckles and being chased around by Zero, still decides to help a bird find its family.
- Energetic: Heavily toned down in Sonic Frontiers, but the IDW comics do have her be energetic, and besides, a lot of 2000s games have her energetic demeanor anyway, so this is still valid.
- Pursues a Big-End Goal: Of course, she wants to marry Sonic in the future. That was made obvious several times in the series.
- Hardworking: Works very hard just to save people in need of saving despite all the odds.
- Optimistic: One of Amy's defining traits is her optimism. She always sees the best in people, which let her redeem characters like Shadow, Gamma, and Trip (who was never truly a villain, it's more of a Knuckles situation for her).
- Idealistic: Believes an Eggman robot like E-102 Gamma can be redeemed, even stopping Sonic from fighting him because Gamma helped her escape from Eggman.
- Determined: Shown especially when she decides to fight the cyber corruption to help Tails and Knuckles gather the Chaos Emeralds for Sonic in Sonic Frontiers: Final Horizons.
Bonus Traits[]
- Believes in the Power of Friendship: Made obvious when she befriends Trip. Shadow and Gamma barely count.
- Unusual Hairstyle: Or quill-style if you will. Amy, like Sonic, Shadow, and Silver is a hedgehog with a unique hairstyle (it's more subtle with Shadow, though), with her quills pointing downwards.
- Unnatural Hair Color: Just like almost every Sonic character in the series. Hedgehogs in real life can't be blue, and definitely can't be pink either.
- Short-Tempered: At least she was short-tempered before, especially in Sonic Heroes.
- Has An Idol: Sonic.
- Forgiving: Obviously. She is the main reason why two villains and one... misguided hero redeemed themselves.
- Is A Primary-Color Champion: Modern Amy only, because her dress is red, and so are her boots, though Classic Amy has blue shoes.
- Is A True Hero: She's Pure Good. Of course she is a true hero. She wants to do what's best for others.
Verdict?[]
A definite yes. Why hasn't she been proposed yet? By Frontiers, she has become a pretty obvious keeper.
