Friday is a stoner hood comedy film made by New Line Cinema. It centers around Craig Jones, an unmotivated 20-something year old man, as he hangs out with his pothead best friend Smokey while dealing the everyday issues in their South Central neighborhood.
Who is the Candidate?[]
- Craig Jones is the main protagonist of the Friday franchise. He was portrayed by Ice Cube.
- Smokey (real name Clarence) is one of the two deuteragonists (alongside Day-Day) of the Friday franchise. He was portrayed by Chris Tucker.

- Confident/Cocky: Day-Day often overestimates himself as a ladies' man when in reality, he often runs away from women like Baby D and has a hard time dealing with his ex-girlfriend D'Wana.

Verdict?[]
Yes. As Willie Jones says, "You win some. You lose some. But you live. You live to fight another day." The lesson is especially apparent in Craig's journey, as he starts off in a passive and uncertain place but rises to the occasion by facing challenges (like Deebo) and standing up for himself and others, much like how Shonen heroes often overcome their personal flaws or fears. He shows that inner strength and courage can make an ordinary individual extraordinary.
As for Smokey and Day-Day, while they may not come off as traditional Shonen heroes at first glance, they show how loyal they are when the chips are down.
