What Is The Work?[]
Persona 5 is a successful Japanese roleplaying game made by Atlus. It focuses on Ren Amamiya, who is a student and phantom thief who wants to reform society by stealing the “hearts” of criminals.
Who is He?[]
Ryuji Sakamoto, going by his Phantom Thief alias “Skull”, is a major character in Persona 5. He is a student at Shujin Academy and Ren Amamiya’s best friend of sorts.
What Makes Him A Shonen Hero?[]
- Heroic: Ryuji managed to play a role in changing the hearts of many deplorable criminals and in fact risked his life to save his fellow Phantom Thieves
- Reckless: At times, he shows reckless behaviour such as
- Energetic: He tends to have an upbeat demeanour
- Unintelligent: He rarely studies for tests and gets horrid grades. In fact, he’s probably the biggest idiot out of the Phantom Thieves
- Optimistic: He’s pretty cheerful
- Determined: To reform society
- Confident/cocky: He can be arrogant at times
- Self-sacrificing: In order to bring his fellow Phantom Thieves to safety, he risked his life to provide a safety boat to help them escape Shido’s collapsing palace.
- Plot Armour: He survived despite sacrificing himself
- Short-temper: He easily takes offense from negative comments
- Big eater: He literally has an obsession with eating meat in general. In fact, when he saw a pile of money in Kaneshiro’s palace he asked about how many beef bowls buy with it
- Mischievous: He’s a huge troublemaker. In fact, he even got a glimpse into Ann’s cleavage during Futaba’s palace…
- Rebellious: He’s a pretty rebellious guy who can be disobedient
- Tragic past: He suffered abuse from Kamoshida, his P.E. coach
- Primary colour champion: In his winter outfit, he wears a yellow shirt. Meanwhile, his Phantom Thief and summer outfits are composed of black and red. Also, his hair is yellow-y blond
- Fighter: He plays a role in fighting shadows
- Forgiving: He forgives his teammates pretty easily
- Delinquent: He uses delinquent-like behaviour as a coping mechanism
- Call out attacks: During fights, he tends to call out this phrase when summoning his persona
