Okay, for this one, I'm basically handling a candidate who was originally approved before being removed for not meeting enough basic traits. However, while the removal was made in good faith, there have been a lot of changes to our criteria since then as we added a lot more basic traits for Shonen Heroes to meet. As such, I felt that Kakyoin warranted a rediscussion. Also, since I am now officially an admin of this wiki, I gave myself permission to do this reproposal.
What's The Work?[]
JoJo's Bizarre Adventure is a manga written by Hirohiko Araki that was (initially) published under none other than Shonen Jump. When writing JoJo, Araki had defied many trends popular among Shonen Jump writers for their protagonists, notably making them muscular Englishmen when foreign protagonists were taboo among shonen writers, making them intelligent and rely on their intelligence rather than the power of friendship, and specifically for Jonathan, killing him off. However, JJBA still, thankfully, followed the basic rules of a Shonen Hero for most of their protagonists.
Who Is He?[]
Kakyoin is a deuteragonist of Stardust Crusaders.
What Makes Him A Shonen Hero?[]
- Heroic/Honorable: Kakyoin is arguably the second most influential Crusader. He discovered Arabia Fats and defeated Mannish Boy, and sacrificed himself to reveal The World’s secret. He is also easily the morally best of the Crusaders.
- Courageous: Kakyoin, like Jotaro, is a calm individual who never shows any fear in a fight, and is even willing to sacrifice himself to defeat the enemy.
- Pursues a Big-End Goal: Kakyoin wants to end DIO as some sort of reparation to Jotaro for attacking him while having a flesh bud implanted by DIO.
- Determined: Is incredibly devoted to defeat DIO due to owing Jotaro a life debt.
- Confident: Kakyoin is incredibly assured and confident when battling foes.
- Unpredictable: In battles, Kakyoin often makes up strategies on the fly to catch his enemies off guard.
- Self-Sacrificing: He literally sacrificed himself to reveal DIO's ability.
- Resilient: Despite facing many harsh opponents, Kakyoin still persists to defeat evil.
- Oblivious to Love: While you could argue it was because of the flesh bud, Kakyoin also does not seem to care about Jotaro’s admirers viewing him as handsome.
- Unnatural Hair Color: Despite being Japanese, he has red hair.
- Is a Blood Knight: Sadistically enjoys beating some of his foes.
- Is a Primary-Color Champion: Has red hair.
- Is a True Hero: Selflessly sacrificed his life to reveal DIO's ability.

- Street-Smart: Constantly comes up with practical battle strategies on the fly.

TBH, I might give a fair yes to Kakyoin here. He honestly has a better chance of counting with the new traits we added.
