Tarzan is the titular main protagonist of the film of the same name. He is voiced by Tony Goldwyn as an adult and Alex D. Linz as a child, the latter of whom portrayed Max Keeble from Max Keeble's Big Move.
What Makes Him a Shonen Hero?[]
- Heroic/Honorable: Tarzan has saved the gorillas from Sabor the Leopard and Clayton, a poacher who plans to capture them for money.
- Courageous: Tarzan is willing to face any dangers to protect his family and friends.
- Energetic: Tarzan likes to swing around with vines and surf on tree branches.
- Stubborn: Tarzan wants to learn about himself as a human being despite Kerchak warning him to stay away from Jane, Mr. Porter and Clayton.
- Pursues a Big-End Goal: After facing social isolation as a result of being the only human in a family of gorillas, Tarzan wants to gain acceptance from them, especially their leader and his adoptive father Kerchak.
- Hard-Working: As a kid, Tarzan develops skills, weapons and enhanced his physical abilities to not only survive in the jungle, but to gain approval from Kerchak.
- Optimistic: Though he had moments of self-hatred when he was younger, Tarzan remains hopeful and keeps pushing himself forward to be a better version of himself.
- Determined: Even when being outmatched by opponents with more resources, Tarzan refuses to give up in a fight.
- Confident: Though initially insecure during his childhood, Tarzan eventually found the courage to believe in his capabilities.

- Mischievous: While he subverted this trait as an adult, Tarzan gets into silly shenanigans with his friends as a kid. However, he has his playful moments, particularly when wrestling with Terk.
- Rebellious: Tarzan disobeyed Kerchak's order to stay away from the humans and decides to spend time with Jane, Mr Porter and Clayton to learn about humanity.
- Is a Challenge Seeker: As a kid, Tarzan wants to prove himself as the best ape to seek the other apes' approval.
- Is an Underdog: Being the only human in a family of apes, Tarzan struggles to keep up with them as a kid, but he becomes stronger and more creative.
- Is a True Hero: Out of a desire to protect innocent animals and people, Tarzan saves countless lives throughout his adventures.
