Virgil Hawkins, also known as Static, is the titular main protagonist of Static Shock. He was voiced by Phil LaMarr.

Heroic/Honorable: Static saves Dakota multiple times from various threats.
Courageous/Reckless: Static has no issues with risking his life for others.
Energetic: Static has many moments of being excitable.
Stubborn: Static will do anything to do what it is right despite others warning not to do it.
Pursues a Big-End Goal: Static wants to protect his home from threats.
Hard-Working: Virgil can be seen training with his powers.
Optimistic: While he can be depressed at times, Virgil manages to keep his chin up.
Believes in the Power of Friendship: Static befriends Rubberband Man after their feud.
Possesses Plot Armor: Static manages to survive many dangers throughout the series.
Spiky Hair: Virgil has fairly spiky dreadlocks.
Short-Tempered: While he is normally easygoing, Virgil can sometimes get heated when provoked.
Mischievous: Static can be seen teasing his enemies in order to defeat them.
Rebellious: Virgil occasionally disobeys his father.
Tragic Past: When he was younger, Virgil's mother was killed by gang members, leading Virgil to have an intense hatred for violence and use his powers in creative ways without killing his enemies. While his father and sister have moved on, Virgil has a hard time coping with the trauma of her death.
