Sonic the Hedgehog is the titular main protagonist of Jeff Fowler's live-action film series of the same name.
What Makes Him a Shonen Hero?[]
- Heroic/Honorable: Sonic protected the citizens of Green Hills and later the world from Dr. Robotnik and, along with Shadow, prevents Gerald Robotnik from using the Eclipse Cannon to commit mundicide.
- Courageous/Reckless: Though he initially runs away from Dr. Robotnik, Sonic has no fear encountering threats no matter how dangerous they are.
- Energetic: Like his video game counterpart, Sonic is extremely hyperactive and constantly uses his super speed.
- Stubborn: Sonic decides to find the Master Emerald alone as he does not want his friends to be in danger.
- Pursues a Big-End Goal: After years of being alone in the woods, Sonic wants seek companionship and camaraderie.
- Hard-Working: Sonic can be seen training at his old home by running in his homemade treadmill.
- Optimistic: Despite his internal struggles, Sonic remains cheerful throughout his life.
- Determined: Sonic refuses to give up in a fight, especially if it means protecting the ones he cares for.
- Confindent/Cocky: Sonic has high confidence within himself and can have a bit of an ego.
- Believes in the Power of Friendship: Sonic values friendship. Sonic encourages Tails when the latter is self conscious about having two tails, and Sonic saves Knuckles from drowning despite the latter tried to kill Sonic several times. Tails and Knuckles eventually become Sonic's friends.
- Possesses Plot Armor: Sonic manages to survive an explosion from a tiny Eggbot after being healed by Maddie and transforms into Super Sonic before being crushed by a giant Eggbot.
- Spiky Hair: Being a hedgehog, Sonic has quills on his head that is equivalent to having spiky hair.
- Unnatural Hair Color: Unlike real-life hedgehogs, Sonic has blue quills for hair.
- Has Rivals: Sonic is mainly rivals with Shadow and has a friendlier rivalry with Knuckles.
- Mischievous: Sonic enjoys pulling pranks on his friends, causing mayhem in a puckish manner and enjoys toying with Robotnik's robots.
- Rebellious: In the second film, Sonic threw a house party at his house despite Tom's demand against it.
- Tragic Past: Back when he was 3 years old, Sonic experienced a traumatic event, where on one day, he returned from a run with a flower for his caretaker Longclaw. However, he was followed by echidnas, and during their escape, Longclaw's wing got injured by an arrow, and as a last resort, she would open a portal for Sonic to enter sending him to Earth before trying to fight off the echidnas (and likely sacrificed herself), Sonic would later even try to return for her, but it would be in vain as the portal had closed. The incident impacted Sonic to the point he sought to become a hero to make her proud.
- Is a Blood Knight: Sonic is shown to enjoy fighting Dr. Robotnik's robots.
- Is a Primary-Color Champion: Sonic has blue fur and wears red shoes.
- Is a Challenge Seeker: Sonic enjoys challenging anyone's beliefs and expectations (as well as himself) in a rebellious fashion.
- Is a True Hero: Sonic has saves his family, friends and innocent people from Robotnik multiple times out of a desire to protect them.
- Is a Mascot with Attitude: Just like his gaming counterpart, Sonic has a highly confident, fun-loving attitude, has a need for speed and enjoys extreme sports like skateboarding.
- Street-Smart: Sonic often thinks on his feet, especially during battle.
- Is a Teen Hero: Sonic is 14-15 years old.
