Norville "Shaggy" Rogers is the deuteragonist of the Scooby-Doo franchise.
He is the owner and best friend of Scooby-Doo and a member of Mystery Inc.
From 1969-2009, He was voiced by the late Casey Kasem,
In Scooby-Doo on Zombie Island, he was voiced by Billy West.
From 1999-2001, he was voiced by Scott Innes who also voiced Scooby-Doo around that time.
Since 2010, he has been voiced by Matthew Lillard who also played his original live-action incarnation in the theatrical live-action Scooby-Doo movies.
What Makes Him a Shonen Hero?[]
- Heroic/Honorable: Shaggy solves endless mysteries and save innocents from countless villains.
- Courageous/Reckless: While he can be cowardly at times, Shaggy can be brave when he is facing a threat.
- Energetic: For a teenager, Shaggy is fun-loving and fairly hyperactive.
- Pursues a Big-End Goal: Alongside the rest of Mystery Inc., Shaggy travels around the world to solve mysteries.
- Unintelligent: Though not as dense as Scooby, Shaggy isn't very bright himself and can make foolish decisions at times.
- Optimistic: While he has some cynical moments, Shaggy always manage to think positively and move forward.
- Determined: Despite his attempts to run away from a fight, they step up when their friends need them.
- Believes in the Power of Friendship: Shaggy deeply values his friendship with the Mystery Inc., especially Scooby, going out of his way to risk his life to protect them.
- Possesses Plot Armor: Scooby and Shaggy manage to survive countless dangers throughout their adventures.
- Mischievous: He alongside Scooby both love to pull pranks and visual gags on their enemies to joke around and otherwise inconvenience them with laughs to go around.
- Oblivious to Love: Shaggy can be clueless when it comes to girls being attracted to him, such as Velma.
- Is A Chick Magnet: Shaggy unintentionally charms several women without even knowing, all by being himself and many women tend to gush over him even when Shaggy didn't have any romantic thoughts.
