What Makes Him a Shonen Hero?[]
- Heroic/Honorable: Riley plays a key role in freeing the slaves from the slave-owning amusement park Freedomland. Despite his lifestyle as a wannabe gangsta, Riley has moral standards as, unlike Lamilton, he takes no pleasure in killing innocent people and does his best to avoid it.

- Energetic: Riley is rather hot-blooded and excitable.
- Stubborn: Riley tends to be committed with his schemes despite being warned multiple times by Huey about the consequences of his actions.
- Pursues a Big-End Goal: Influenced by mass media via rap culture and gangster films, Riley wants to live the thuggish lifestyle like the gangsters and rappers he sees in television.
- Unintelligent: Though he is very street-smart, Riley is rather impulsive and makes stupid decisions.
- Optimistic: While he can feel down at times, Riley manages to keep a positive attitude unlike Huey.
- Determined: Riley continues to keep pushing forward in spite of his failures
- Confident/Cocky': Riley views himself as a real gangster to the point where he has a inflated sense of self.
- Possesses Plot Armor: Riley manages to survive several gun-shootings.
- Has a Rival: Riley has a rivalry with his brother Huey, as they sometimes fight each other, both physically and verbally.
- Has Idols: Riley looks up to various rappers, most notably Thugnificent.
- Short-Tempered: Though not as irritable as his grandfather Robert, Riley can be impatient at times.
- Mischievous: Riley commits delinquent acts for the fun of it.
- Rebellious: Riley tends to disobey Robert's rules and often gets into legal trouble.
- Is a Blood Knight: Even though he loses half of them Riley always seems to enjoy a good brawl. However, he draws the line at life threatening situations that involve guns even though he's responsible for getting himself in those problems.
- Is a Challenge Seeker: In Shinin, Riley takes the test to prove his potential as a member of the Lethal Interjection Crew.
- Is a Delinquent: Riley commits several crimes such as vandalism and graffiti.
- Is an Underdog: Riley is less skilled in combat than his brother and grandfather, but he demonstrates great amount of determination.
