RJ is the main protagonist of Over the Hedge. He was voiced by Bruce Willis.
What Makes Him a Shonen Hero?[]
- Heroic/Honorable: RJ has saved all the other animals from getting killed by Vincent, Gladys and Dwayne.
- Courageous: RJ is willing to risk his life to save his founded family.
- Energetic: While he is nowhere near as hyperactive as Hammy, RJ has a playful and fun-loving streak.
- Stubborn: RJ usually goes along with his own plans despite being warned by Verne that his plans would put the other animals in danger.
- Pursues a Big-End Goal: After he accidentally destroyed Vincent's food, RJ sets out to gather food for him so he wouldn't be at risk of being eaten by the latter.
- Optimistic: Regardless of the stress he experiences, RJ maintains a positive attitude.
- Believes in the Power of Friendship: RJ views the animals as his family and believes in teamwork.
- Possesses Plot Armor: If Hammy didn't drink the soda to stop time, RJ would've been eaten by Vincent.
- Short-Tempered: RJ can be impatient and come close to lose his temper at times, particularly when dealing with Hammy's incompetence.
- Mischievous: RJ comes up with schemes that involves stealing food from suburban houses.
