Puss in Boots is a major character in the Shrek franchise, and the titular main protagonist of the spin-off Puss in Boots franchise.

What Makes Him a Shonen Hero?

• Heroic/Honorable: Just in the movies alone, Puss helped to defeat the Fairy Godmother, Prince Charming, and Rumpelstiltskin, and defeated Humpty Dumpty, Jack and Jill, and Big Jack Horner. He also has a high code of honor, such as refusing to steal from orphanages and churches.
• Courageous/Reckless: Puss is known for his bravery to the point of overconfidence at one point with “Puss in Boots laughs in the face of death”. He was also very reckless with his lives until he learns his lesson by the end of The Last Wish.
• Energetic: Puss highly craves for a life of adventure and excitement.
• Stubborn: Alone with his recklessness that cost him 8 lives, Puss has been equally as stubborn during that period.
• Pursues a Big-End Goal: In Puss in Boots, he decides to steal the Golden Goose to save San Ricardo, while in the sequel, he initially decides to use the Wishing Star to restore his lives, but eventually, after his fight with Death, he joins the fight to stop Jack Horner from stealing all the magic in the world.
