What Makes Him a Shonen Hero?[]
- Heroic/Honorable: Nemo came up with the idea of saving every fish from a fishing net.
- Courageous/Reckless: Nemo is willing to risk his life to save his friends and innocent fish in the ocean.
- Energetic: Nemo is a highly adventurous kid.
- Stubborn: Nemo refuses to give up despite his father telling him that he can't swim well due to his underdeveloped right fin.
- Pursues a Big-End Goal: After being taken away from home by divers, Nemo becomes dedicated to escape from the dentist office.
- Hard-Working: Nemo manages to stick the pebble into the tank filter after his first fail.
- Optimistic: Despite his fair share of pessimistic moments, Nemo manages to maintain a cheerful attitude.
- Believes in the Power of Friendship: Nemo uses the "swim-down" technique from his time with the Tank Gang to save the fish from the fishing net.
- Possesses Plot Armor: The Tank Gang manages to save Nemo from a tube that leads to the rotating filter.
- Short-Tempered: While not as irritable as Marlin, Nemo can get angered by his father's overprotectiveness.
- Rebellious: Humiliated by his father in front of his friends, Nemo swims in to open sea to prove to Marlin that he is not as helpless as he thinks he is.
- Tragic Past: When Nemo was an egg, his mother Coral and his 399 siblings were killed by a barracuda. While Nemo manages to survive, his eggshell received damage from the attack, which led to his right fin being much smaller than the other. This disability has limited his swimming ability, which led to his father becoming overprotective of him to the point where he has to defy him in order to prove his independence.
