Kyojuro Rengoku is a main character from the Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba franchise, most notably serving as the deuteragonist of the Mugen Train arc.
He was voiced by Satoshi Hino in Japanese and by Mark Whitten in the English dub.
What Makes Him a Shonen Hero?[]
- Heroic/Honorable: Kyojuro fought Akaza to the death to save the passengers of the Mugen Train, and he has a high code of honor, believing the strong has a duty to protect the weak.
- Courageous: Kyojuro shows not a shred of fear in battle, and was willing to sacrifice himself to defeat Akaza.
- Energetic: Kyojuro has tons of moments of being boisterous and loud.
- Stubborn: Despite Akaza's offer to make him a demon, Kyojuro refused to surrender to him to the end.
- Pursues a Big-End Goal: Like all demon slayers, Rengoku shares a goal to destroy the demon race.
- Hard-Working: While he is naturally talented coming from a family that produced demon slayers for centuries, Kyojuro trained very hard to get where he is now.
- Optimistic: Kyojuro has a very cheerful personality, and rarely frowns.
- Spiky Hair: Kyojuro has spiky hair.
- Unnatural Hair Color: Bright yellow and red, caused by one of his ancestors feasting on tempura.
- Big Eater: Like his apprentice Mitsuri, Rengoku loves to eat and has a gigantic appetite, as shown by the sheer amount of food he put away on the train.
- Tragic Past: When he was young, Kyojuro lost his mother to a disease, which would cause his father to take up alcohol and become negligent and abusive toward him and his brother.
- Is a Blood Knight: Kyojuro is eager to slay demons, and openly admits he wants to kill more than one of the Twelve Kizuki.
- Forgiving: Despite the ill-treatment he received from him, Kyojuro is overall polite and affable to his father Shinjuro
- Is a Primary-Colored Champion: Rengoku's color scheme mainly consists of yellow and red.
