What Makes Him a Shonen Hero?[]
- Heroic/Honorable: Kevin defends his home from Harry and Marv, prevented their plan to steal money from the charity of a children's hospital and saves the Crown Prince.
- Courageous: Kevin takes no hesitation to do the right thing or to save others.
- Energetic: Since he is a kid, Kevin has a tendency to run around and have fun however he can.
- Stubborn: Kevin wants to do whatever he wants regardless of the warnings he receives from his mother Kate.
- Pursues a Big-End Goal: Kevin has two goals in the films centering around him:
- He wants to spend his time away from his family for not having his back in the moments where someone wronged him.
- He defends his home from enemies before he can reunite with his family.
- Hard-Working: Since he was never taught to be independent and had to have his parents to do basic things for him, he has to teach himself how to be a responsible person and goes out of his way to buy groceries and do the laundry.
- Optimistic: Though he has his moments of depression, Kevin makes the best of any situation that he is involved in.
- Determined: No matter what stands in his way, Kevin refuses to back down from a fight, especially for a good cause.
- Confident/Cocky: Kevin is pretty overconfident when it comes to setting traps for his enemies and was also blunt enough to call Marv and Harry a couple of idiots for falling for Kevin's tricks.
- Unpredictable: Kevin comes up with traps that his enemies can never guess.
- Resilient: Despite being lonely at times as a result of being home alone, Kevin manages to get back on his feet to be his own person.
- Believes in the Power of Friendship: Kevin befriends misunderstood people like Marley and Pigeon Lady despite being initially terrified of them.
- Possesses Plot Armor: When Harry attempts to shoot Kevin with a gun, Pigeon Lady saves him by throwing bread crumbs at Harry and Marv to have the pigeons fight them.
- Short-Tempered: Kevin can get aggressive when being bullied, especially by his older brother Buzz.
- Big Eater/Drinker: Kevin is shown to have a humongous appetite for junk food, especially pizza and ice cream.
- Mischievous: Kevin is amused by the pranks he pulled on the pizza delivery guy and the traps he sets up for Harry and Marv (which also has Kevin finding amusement in the stupidity of Harry and Marv themselves).
- Rebellious: Kevin refuses to apologize to Buzz as his parents asked him to, though this is largely because he can see that Buzz isn't being sincere with his own apology after he humiliated Kevin in front of the whole church.
- Is a Primary-Color Champion: The promotional posters feature Kevin wearing a red sweater in the first film and a blue sweater/winter coat in the second film.
- Is a True Hero: Kevin helped Old Man Marley get the confidence to speak up with his son again after being estranged from him for years. Also, out of the kindness of his heart; he also donated for an orphanage foundation, thus making him philanthropic and a benefactor as well.
- Is a Mascot with Attitude: Kevin is very mischievous, rebellious, has a quippy and snarky sense of humor, likes cheese pizza and fights off burglars with booby traps.
- Street-Smart: Kevin is very streetwise, often thinks on his feet and tends to have many resourceful ways to overcome obstacles, especially in terms of surviving from the danger he encounters and is creative enough to outsmart his enemies.
- Is a Kid Hero: Kevin is 8 in the first film and 10 in the second film.
