Jotaro Kujo is the main protagonist of the original JoJo's Bizarre Adventure universe.
He is the protagonist of Stardust Crusaders, one of the two tritagonists (along with Rohan Kishibe) of Diamond is Unbreakable, a minor character in Vento Aureo, and a main character in Stone Ocean.
He was voiced by Daisuke Ono in Japanese and Matthew Mercer in English, the former also voicing Silver the Hedgehog.
What Makes Him a Shonen Hero?[]
- Heroic/Honorable: Jotaro is the most influential and recurring JoJo in the series as he has defeated DIO once and for all, indirectly caused Kira to die, and played a huge role in defeating Pucci. In addition, he is also honorable, even saying at one point that despite being not much of a nice person, he still can recognize evil. Even then, he still respects his enemies such as N’Doul and Enya.
- Courageous: Jotaro has a noticeable coolness whenever in dangerous situations, never showing any sign of fear or panic.
- Energetic: While usually calm, Jotaro is hotblooded and loud whenever using his stand.
- Stubborn: Even though he was warned by Joseph that the enemy will see him, Jotaro still steps out of the Crusaders’ hiding place to throw a rock at the sun, which successfully retires the enemy. In addition, although N’Doul had defeated all the other Crusaders, Jotaro refused to give up and continued fighting him.
- Pursues a Big-End Goal: Due to being the most recurring JoJo, this changes throughout appearances.
- In Part 3 he wants to defeat DIO because his existence threatens his mother’s life,
- In Part 4 he joins the group in fighting Kira
- In Part 6 he wants to defeat Pucci and end DIO’s legacy.
- Determined: Like his grandfather and great-great-grandfather, Jotaro has a strong amount of resolve and never gives up on anything once he sets his mind on it.
- Unpredictable: Owing to his intellect and sharp thinking, Jotaro is able to get ahead on his enemies even when they don't expect it.
- Oblivious to Love: He does not seem to care about a group of female admirers’ crush on him and only told them to shut up when they were arguing too loud.
- Possesses Plot Armor: Jotaro is only able to defeat DIO because he performed a time stop with his stand, and it is never explained why it can do so.
- Spiky Hair/Unnatural Hairstyle: Jotaro has spiky hair, which blends in with his hat.
- Short-Tempered: While he gets calmer during Part 4, Jotaro still has a consistent problem controlling his temper, and has angry outbursts often.
- Rebellious: As a delinquent, Jotaro picks fights with everybody no matter who they are, even beating up a teacher when he believed he did not teach properly.
- Is a Neglectful Parent: Due to his job as a marine biologist and having to face DIO's legacy, Jotaro was absent for much of Jolyne's childhood, leading to her to somewhat resent him.
- Is a Delinquent: Jotaro frequently gets into street fights, which gets him arrested several times.
- Is a Chick Magnet: Jotaro was able to attract many of his female classmates to the point they argued over him.
- Is a True Hero: While possessing a rough and even harsh exterior, Jotaro is still an extremely noble person who can recognize evil on first sight, and is willing to fight against it no matter what
- Calls Out Attacks: He calls out the following when using Star Platinum:
- STAR PLATINUM!!!!!/STAR PLATINUM: THE WORLD!!!!!
- ORA ORA ORA ORA ORA ORA ORA!!!
- STAR FINGER!!!
- Is a Mascot with Attitude: Jotaro has a stoical and badass disposition, has a intriguing fashion style, and is extremely level-headed.
- Street-Smart: Due to his experience as a delinquent, Jotaro is able to come up with plans on his feet.
