Jake Long is the titular main protagonist of American Dragon Jake Long. He is voiced by Dante Bosco, who also voiced Zuko from Avatar: The Last Airbender.
What Makes Him a Shonen Hero?[]
- Heroic/Honorable: Jake has saved the human and magical worlds from the Huntsman and other threats throughout the series.
- Courageous/Reckless: Jake never thinks about saving his own skin and instead risks his life to save others.
- Energetic: While he is normally laid-back, Jake has moments of hotbloodedness and enjoys skateboarding with his friends Spud and Trixie.
- Stubborn: Jake chooses to do what is the right thing despite others telling him not to do it.

- Unnatural Hair Color: Jake's black hair has green highlights as a result of him consistently using hair gel.
- Short-Tempered: Jake can get rather annoyed with his younger sister Haley at times.
- Has a Mentor: Jake trains to learn from his grandfather to use his dragon powers.
- Mischievous: Jake has moments of pulling pranks, especially towards Haley.
- Rebellious: Jake sometimes disobeys his grandfather to ditch training in order to do what he wants.
- Is a Primary-Color Champion: Jake wears a red and yellow jacket and blue cargo pants in human form. His dragon form has red skin, a yellow chest and blue claws.
