The Ice Climbers are the pair of titular main protagonists of the franchise of the same name, Ice Climber. The Ice Climbers are a cute twin mountaineer duo who are residents of a village, consisting of an elder twin boy, Popo, and a younger twin girl, Nana. Reflecting their careers, both are entertained in scaling several enormous and glacial mountaintops to recollect various vegetables stolen from a veggie-stealing condor. Outside of that, Popo and Nana typically like to play with each other, make friends and have saved the universe from Tabuu's domination, and from Galeem and Dharkon's domination.
What Makes Them Shonen Heroes?[]
- Heroic/Honorable: The Ice Climbers have recollected multiple stolen vegetables for their village and have confronted the condor, who is responsible for it. Additionally, the duo have saved the world from domination, twice, from Tabuu's domination, and from Galeem and Dharkon's domination, which is even surprisingly admirable considering that the two are little kids.
- Courageous: The Ice Climbers will do anything to save the world from evil and benefit their home village, even if it means facing off against the deadliest of villains (like Polar Bears, the Subspace Army, Galleom, the Duon, Dracula, Ganon the Demon King, Giga Bowser, Tabuu, Galeem and Dharkon, etc) or having to accomplish the most risky of missions, such as scaling enormous and dangerous mountaintops with very narrow platforming to recollect vegetables from the condor.
- Energetic: The Ice Climbers have pure energy, demonstrated with them climbing mountaintops without fear of endangerment and exploration, and jump for joy whenever they successfully conquer a mountain.
- Optimistic: Popo and Nana are typically shown to be cheerful kids who are always happy to help other people if required. Even during the most dangerous moments, Popo and Nana still attempt to find a way out of it.
- Is a Primary-Colored Champion: Popo and Nana are best known for the respective coloration of their parkas, with Popo's blue parka indicating that he is the leader, and Nana's pink parka indicating that she is the partner in justice.
- Possesses Plot Armor: The Ice Climbers have survived high falls thanks to their ice cleats offering them soft landings, demonstrated in the Subspace Emissary where the duo fall into the canyon.
- Determined: Popo and Nana are determined to help other people or stop any evil force that endangers the world or their village at the very least.
- Resilient: Regardless of the duo's failures, the Ice Climbers continue to get up and try again.
- Youthful: Being kids, the Ice Climbers have a zest for living life to the fullest by going on exciting adventures, exploration and doing whatever they want, as long as if it does not cause harm.
- Hard-Working: Popo and Nana take their mountaineering training rather seriously and refuse to take shortcuts.
- Idealistic: Popo and Nana believe that the power of teamwork is powerful enough to take down any threats, which is no wonder the two work as a fundamental and loyal team.
- Believes in the Power of Friendship: The Ice Climbers believe in the power of friendship not only because of the duo having a blood bond with each other, but also because during the clash between Meta Knight and Lucario, Popo and Nana were watching the entire scene in paranoia, and due to Popo and Nana's sentiments, Meta Knight and Lucario befriended each other at the end, which delights the Ice Climbers.
- Is a True Hero: Popo and Nana are often willing to risk their lives for the greater good.
- Has a Rival: The Condor, in Ice Climber, and Meta Knight, in the Subspace Emissary, although this was fleeting.
- Forgiving: The duo do not show grudge against Meta Knight and Lucario for leaving them to fall towards the canyon after the Battleship Halberd crashed the Great Fox into the Glacial Peak in the Subspace Emissary.
- Call Out Attacks: The Ice Climbers shout out loud vocalizations whenever they perform attacks to call them out.
- Rebellious: Popo and Nana show deep hatred towards tyranny.
