If there was a murder, then there was a murderer. The murderer is with us, and every one of you is a suspect.
~ Poirot
I have been called in too late. Very often another, working towards the same goal, has arrived there first. Twice I have been struck down with illness just as I was on the point of success.
~ Poirot

Hercule Poirot is the titular main protagonist of most of Agatha Chrisitie's detective novels. He is a Belgian detective. Poirot is one of Christie's most famous and long-lived characters, appearing in 33 novels, one play (Black Coffee), and more than 50 short stories published between 1920 and 1975.

What Makes Him A Shonen Hero?[]

  • Heroic/Honorable: He exposes lots of (mostly dangerous) criminals, stops the Big Four from provoking a war and prevents Hastings from killing Allerton.
  • Courageous/Reckless: Isn't above facing various dangerous criminals.
  • Pursues a Big-End Goal: To fight criminals.
  • Hard-Working: While it's true that he prefers sitting in his room and thinking who could be a criminal, he doesn't do it until he gets ALL information he needs.
  • Determined: Never gives up until a criminal is behind the bars.
  • Confident/Cocky: Is a hugely arrogant person.
  • Unpredictable: For criminals.
  • Self-Sacrificing: When he realizes that Stephen Norton cannot be stopped legally (as he didn't kill anyone PERSONALLY, while his provokations cannot be proven, especially since Norton had no DIRECT motive to provoke people to commit murder), he decides to kill Norton and sucumb his illness later, as it is what Poirot thinks the only way to stop Stephen Norton.
  • Resilient: Is shown to blame himself for not realizing what he calls simple things.
  • Believes in the Power of Friendship: While he prefers investigating crimes alone, he is never against someone to help him (at least to witness his actions).
  • Possesses Plot Armor: Until Curtain (but even then, he isn't murdered).
  • Spiky Hair/Pompadour/Unnatural Hairstyle: His legendary moustache is something like that.
