Hammy is the tritagonist of Over the Hedge. He is voiced by Steve Carrell.

What Makes Him a Shonen Hero?

• Heroic/Honorable: Hammy has freeze time to not only set up the traps for Vincent, Gladys and Dwayne, but to save RJ from being eaten by Vincent.
• Courageous/Reckless: Hammy can be courageous when he needs to be and is shown to be incredibly reckless.
• Energetic: Hammy is known for being incredibly hyperactive.
• Unintelligent: With his impulsivity, naivete, low attention span and moments of stupidity, Hammy is considered the least intelligent of the group.
• Hard-Working: Hammy manages to find all of the acorns that he has foraged for the winter.
• Optimistic: Hammy is extremly cheerful and happy-go-lucky.
• Believes in the Power of Friendship: Hammy is quick to welcome any with open arms and like RJ and Verne, Hammy values teamwork.
• Big Eater: Hammy is quick to stuff his face with food.
