Goten is a major character in the Dragon Ball franchise.
He was voiced by Masako Nozawa in Japanese and by Kara Edwards and Robert McCollum in English.
What Makes Him a Shonen Hero?[]
- Heroic/Honorable: Goten has helped saved the world and universe numerous times throughout the series.
- Courageous/Reckless: Goten has shown himself to not be afraid to put himself in danger if he has to in fights.
- Energetic: Like his father, Goten is a very energetic and hyperactive kid.
- Pursues a Big-End Goal: Goten seeks to be a hero like his father and keep his loved ones safe.
- Hard-Working: Goten does the best he can to train and get stronger.
- Unintelligent: Similar to his father, Goten isn't exactly the brightest lightbulb in the box.
- Optimistic: Even when times are rough, Goten is usually a cheerful and happy-go-lucky person.
- Possesses Plot Armor: Goten was able to easily turn Super Saiyan at a young age and put up a good fight against his brother.
- Spiky Hair: Goten has the exact same spiky hairstyle as his father, and while he changes it as he gets older, it's still rather spiky.
- Big Eater: Being half Saiyan, Goten has a huge appetite and eats and drinks a lot.
- Mischievous: Though he's usually the voice of reason and the one trying to be careful, Goten can tend to go along with Trunks' mischievous ways.
- Tragic Past: Since his father died before he was born, Goten was forced to live the first years of his life without ever knowing him, which is presumed to have been rough for him. He also goes through some traumatic experiences, such as his witnessing whole family being killed by Majin Buu and seeing his father dead after Hit kills him.
- Is a Blood Knight: Goten often gets kicks out of fighting villains.
- Is a Chick Magnet: Goten is considered to be handsome by some girls, as he's shown taking a picture with a few in the manga and has a girlfriend in GT.
- Is a Kid/Teen Hero: Goten is usually seen as a young kid in most of his appearances.
