Gingka Hagane is the main protagonist of the Beyblade: Metal Saga.
He was voiced by Aki Kanada in the Japanese version, and by Robert Tinkler in the English version.
What Makes Him a Shonen Hero?[]
- Heroic/Honorable: Gingka has saved the world on numerous occasions - from the Dark Nebula and Ryuga, from Dr. Ziggurat's schemes with the Spiral Force, and finally from the Nemesis cult and the God of Destruction.
- Courageous/Reckless: Gingka is incredibly brave and won't back down in the face of insurmountable odds, fearlessly taking on world-ending threats like Nemesis.
- Energetic: Gingka is laid-back, but he has a rather excitable personality, particularly when undergoing new experiences like his time in Europe.
- Stubborn: At times, Gingka's love for Beyblading can lead him to be rather obstinate. This is shown when he refuses to allow Team Star Breaker to be disqualified for cheating against his team, insisting on battling against them in the finals no matter what.
- Pursues a Big-End Goal: Gingka's goal is to be the number one Blader in the world.
- Hard-Working: Though his Pegasus bey is very naturally powerful, Gingka works very hard to master its power.
- Unintelligent: Though not stupid per se, Gingka can be rather naive and slow on the uptake.
- Optimistic: Gingka always maintains an upbeat attitude no matter what stands before him, and always believes he will come out on top.
- Believes in the Power of Friendship: In addition to the Blader Spirit, Gingka believes that his power comes from the connections he's built with all of his friends and rivals.
- Spiky Hair: Just look at that trim. It defies gravity.
- Unnatural Hair Color: His hair is an unusual shade of red.
- Has Rivals/Mentors: He has made many rivals across the series, the most prominent of whom are Kyoya and Ryuga.
- Big Eater: Absolutely adores hamburgers, and can put away a startlingly high number of them in one sitting.
- Tragic Past: In his backstory, he had to witness his father battling Doji and Ryuga to stop them from stealing the evil L-Drago bey, which resulted in his father seemingly dying, motivating Gingka to stop the Dark Nebula once and for all.
- Is a Primary-Color Champion: Ginka has red hair and wears a blue headband, gloves and jacket.
