Eijiro Kirishima, also known as the Sturdy Hero: Red Riot or simply Red Riot, is a major protagonist in the My Hero Academia franchise.
He is voiced by Toshiki Masuda in the Japanese version of the anime, and by Justin Cook in the English version. The latter has also voiced Yusuke Urameshi in YuYu Hakusho.
What Makes Him a Shonen Hero?[]
- Heroic/Honorable: Kirishima participates in saving the world from All For One and Shigaraki.
- Courageous/Reckless: Kirishima has no issue with putting his life at risk to protect/save others if it means showing his manliness.
- Energetic: Kirishima is very hot-blooded.
- Stubborn: Kirishima refuses to back down from a fight even when the odds are against him.
- Pursues a Big-End Goal: Kirishima wants to become a hero to prove his masculinity.
- Hard-Working: Kirishima trains very hard to keep up with his peers and subverts his "book-dumb" times and lack of tactical thinking in battle by becoming somewhat smarter and wiser over time.
- Optimistic: While he has his share of insecurities, Kirishima continues to stay positive.
- Determined: Given how much he takes pride in his masculinity, Kirishima is willing to take on any threat, going as far as to surpass his limits.
- Believes in the Power of Friendship: Kirishima highly values his friends and would do anything to protect them.
- Possesses Plot Armor: Kirishima survives many battle injuries since he can be impulsive in the battlefield.
- Spiky Hair: Kirishima has spiky hair.
- Unnatural Hair Color: Originally black, but his hair is dyed red.
- Has Rivals: Kirishima had Tetsutetsu from Class 1-B as a rival (who also shares similarities to Kirishima in some ways), also sometimes engaged in some rivalry with Bakugo, and he also had Monoma serving as another rival of his from Class 1-B.
- Has an Idol: Kirishima looks up to Crimson Riot.
- Short-Tempered: Kirishima loses his cool when entering Unbreakable Mode.
- Mischievous: Kirishima can sometimes show enjoyment in teasing his classmates by harmless means, particularly Bakugo.
- Is a Challenge Seeker: Kirishima would seek any opportunity to prove how manly he is.
- Is a Primary-Color Champion: Kirishima has a red color scheme, and even takes the hero name Red Riot.
