Craig Jones is the main protagonist of the Friday franchise.

He was portrayed by Ice Cube.

What Makes Him a Shonen Hero?[]

  • Heroic/Honorable: Craig has saved his cousin Day-Day and Roach from the Joker Brothers after the two were taken hostage.
  • Courageous/Reckless: When necessary, Craig is willing to face any obstacles without hesitation.
  • Energetic: While not as manic as Smokey and Day-Day, Craig has moments of getting riled up.
  • Stubborn: Craig often refuses to get a job as his father Willie asks him to.
  • Pursues a Big-End Goal: Throughout the films, Craig wants to hook up with a woman he shows interest in.
  • Hard-Working: Unlike Day-Day, Craig takes his job as a security guard seriously and keeps a level head to make money to pay rent for their apartment.
  • Optimistic: Despite the many setbacks he endures, Craig continues to look on the bright side.
  • Determined: Regardless of the obstacles stacked against him, Craig refuses to back out from a fight.
  • Confident: Craig has high faith in himself and his ability to win over the ladies.
  • Resilient: Craig manages to defeat Deebo despite being nearly killed by the latter in a street fight.
  • Youthful: While he is one of the most sensible characters in the series, Craig enjoys partying, smoking weed and hooking up with women like any other young man.
  • Believes in the Power of Friendship: Craig is very loyal to his best friend Smokey to the point where he refuses to let him die in the hands of Big Worm.
  • Possesses Plot Armor: In the first film, Craig survives a drive-by shooting by Big Worm's minions and manages to defeat Deebo despite being nearly killed by the latter.
  • Short-Tempered: Though rather laid-back, Craig has moments of losing his patience, especially with Smokey and Day-Day's antics and the stupidity of his neighbors.
  • Has a Mentor: Craig's father teaches him how to solve issues and overcome his enemies by using his fists rather than guns.
  • Mischievous: Craig has moments of teasing his family and friends.
  • Rebellious: Craig often disobeys his father's demands to get employed.
  • Is a Blood Knight: Craig shows a fair amount of pleasure in fighting his enemies, especially Deebo.
  • Is a Mascot with Attitude: Craig is a laid-back and smart-alecky slacker who enjoys smoking marijuana and hooking up with women.
  • Street-Smart: Craig is highly capable of thinking of plans on the fly.
