Clay Moorington is the main protagonist of the LEGO Nexo Knights series. He is the leader of the Nexo Knights who takes his job of protecting the kingdom of Knighton very seriously.
He was voiced by Giles Panton.
What Makes Him a Shonen Hero?[]
- Heroic/Honorable: Clay continuously protects his kingdom and its people from hordes of monsters, and lives by the Knight's Code, which demands from the knights to have many virtues, including honor.
- Courageous/Reckless: Clay doesn't back off in the face of danger. At one point, he infiltrated the villains' lair without his teammates in order to save Jestro, which ultimately proved to be a poorly-planned decision and almost resulted in him getting possessed by Monstrox.
- Energetic: He almost never relaxes, even when he has a choice, sleeps two hours a day and often works out to always be ready for another battle.
- Pursues a Big-End Goal: Wants to defeat anyone who dares threaten his kingdom.
- Hard-Workng: He often trains to improve his knight skills.
- Believes in the Power of Friendship: He is friends with other Nexo Knights and insists that they always work as a team.
- Spiky Hair/Unnatural Hairstyle: Has a somewhat spiky hairstyle.
- Has Rivals/Mentors: Has two rivals in form of his fellow knight, Lance Richmond, although they are mostly on friendly terms despite clashing on occasions, and Shia LaBlade, member of the Tighty Knighties and his opponent at the king's tournament. He was raised and mentored since childhood by Merlok, the last wizard in the kingdom, as well his maternal uncle.
- Tragic Past: Due to his mother first turning evil and then being trapped in stone, he grew up without parents and lived in poverty while working as a streetsweeper.
- Forgiving: He was willing to forgive Jestro for all the evil he's done, even when his friends were reluctant to accept him.
- Is a Primary-Color Champion: His armor and family crest always have a blue motif.
