Bolin is one of the two tritagonists of The Legend of Korra. He is voiced by P. J. Byrne.
What Makes Him a Shonen Hero?[]
- Heroic/Honorable: Bolin plays a role in saving the world from various threats.
- Courageous/Reckless: Bolin rarely hesitates in putting his life on the line to protect innocent people.
- Energetic: Bolin has many excitable moments.
- Stubborn: Bolin has moments of going along with his plans despite being warned by his older brother Mako about the consequences.
- Pursues a Big-End Goal: Driven by his desire to be a hero, Bolin does his best to help make the world a better place.
- Hard-Working: Bolin tries his best to bend Metal.
- Unintelligent: While he is by no means stupid, Bolin is rather gullible and naive, which makes him easy to manipulate.
- Optimistic: Regardless of his hardships, Bolin remains cheerful and hopeful.
- Idealistic: Bolin is mainly motivated by his desire to protect people and make lives better.
- Believes in the Power of Friendship: Bolin wants to make as many friends as possible and gains his strength from his desire to protect them.
- Possesses Plot Armor: Bolin encounters countless dangers and manages to live through them.
- Spiky Hair/Pompadour: Bolin's hair is slicked back in a pompadour, with a spiky cowlick in the back.
- Has an Idol: Bolin looks up to Toph Beifong as his hero and wants to be like her.
- Tragic Past: Alongside Mako, he lost his parents when they were attacked by criminals. While Mako sheltered him from the harsh realities of being an orphan, the trauma nonetheless affects Bolin as he has to survive in the streets.
