Bart Simpson is one of the main protagonists of The Simpsons franchise.

He is voiced by Nancy Cartwright.

What Makes Him a Shonen Hero?[]

  • Heroic/Honorable: Alongside Homer, Bart saves Springfield from a bomb placed by Russ Cargill.
  • Courageous/Reckless: Bart has no issue putting his life on the line to save others.
  • Energetic: Bart is very hyperactive and is diagnosed with ADHD.
  • Stubborn: Bart wants to do whatever he wants regardless of people's warnings.
  • Pursues a Big-End Goal: Driven by his desire to be the coolest, Bart wants to present himself in the best way he can by pulling pranks and rebelling against authority figures.
  • Unintelligent: Though he is very street-smart and has much more common sense than his father Homer, Bart is rather impulsive and is sorely lacking in book-smarts.
  • Hard-Working: Though he can be lazy at times, Bart can be diligent when he needs to be. An example is in Bart Gets an F, in which he studies all day and night to pass a history test to prevent himself from repeating the 4th grade.
  • Optimistic: Despite his struggles and misfortunes, Bart maintains a positive attitude.
  • Determined: No matter how tough things can be, Bart is usually the last one standing during a fight.
  • Confident/Cocky: Bart views himself as the coolest kid at school due to his mischievous and rebellious personality and can be somewhat egotistical at times.
  • Unpredictable: Bart uses his mischief and trickery to keep his enemies on their toes.
  • Resilient: Bart refuses to let his failures define who he is.
  • Youthful: Bart is a fun-loving kid.
  • Believes in the Power of Friendship: Bart manages to befriend Nelson Muntz despite the latter's reputation as the school bully.
  • Possesses Plot Armor: Bart died once in Bart's Dead, only to be revived in another episode.
  • Oblivious to Love: Sometimes shows this side. While he occasionally does play the role of a enlightened Kidanova, Bart typically manages to be surprisingly clueless about the effect he seems to have on girls, some of which are quite a few years older than him.
  • Spiky Hair: Bart is recognized by his spiky hair.
  • Has a Rival: Bart has an on-and-off rivalry with both his sister Lisa and school bully Nelson.
  • Has an Idol: Bart idolizes Krusty the Clown.
  • Short-Tempered: While he isn't as temperamental as Homer, Bart can lose his patience from time to time.
  • Mischievous: He is iconic for being competent as the resident prankster, and he always pulls pranks on people like prank calling Moe (a bartender) and pulling several pranks on Seymour (his school principal), not to mention that he's often a lazy troublemaker who makes petty taunts and is often a class clown.
  • Rebellious: Bart has a humongous disregard for authority and is known for being a juvenile delinquent.
  • Is a Primary-Color Champion: Bart wears a red-orange shirt, blue pants and shoes as well as having blonde hair and yellow skin.
  • Is a Delinquent: Bart often commits petty crimes and breaks rules for his own amusement.
  • Is a Chick Magnet: Bart managed to get a few girlfriends even though Bart's relationships never ever go anywhere, especially since the episode "Moonshine River" has him revisiting five of his ex-girlfriends and one of them being fifteen years old.
  • Is an Underdog: Bart is often misunderstood by many people, but he proves himself to be a hero through resourcefulness and determination.
  • Is a Mascot with Attitude: Bart is known for his mischievous and rebellious attitude, rides a skateboard and tends to make snarky retorts and quips.
  • Street-Smart: Bart is known for his ability to come up with clever and often mischievous plans to get what he wants or to get out of trouble.
  • Is a Kid Hero: Bart is 10 years old.
