Honey? Where's my super suit?
What’s The Work?
The Incredibles is an American computer-animated comedy superhero film series about a family of supers who are forced to hide their powers after the heroes are banned from using their powers in public. The movie franchise was written and directed by Brad Bird, who also voices Edna Mode.
Who Is He?
Frozone, also known by his real name Lucius Best, is a major character in The Incredibles franchise. He's an ice-themed superhero who is the sidekick and best friend of Mr. Incredible, as well as a close family friend to the Parr family. He is voiced by Samuel L. Jackson.
What Makes Him A Shonen Hero?
Heroic/Honorable: Lucius saved many people from a burning building along with Bob, helped the Parrs save Metroville by defeating the Omnidroid, stopping the Underminer's drill from causing more damage, and preventing DevTech's yacht from crashing into Municiberg.
Courageous: Lucius would usually put other's lives before himself, like sacrificing himself to protect Violet, Dash, and Jack-Jack brainwashed by one of the Screenslaver's minions.
Stubborn: Lucius is willing to help the Parrs save Metroville from dangerous threats, despite his wife's protests.
Optimistic: Lucius always sees the positives in his life.
Possesses Plot Armor: Lucius has survived any danger he is involved in, such as being burnt alive from a burning building while saving the people inside it, being killed by the Omnidroid, and being brainwashed by the Screenslaver.
Short-Tempered: While generally cool-headed and not as hot-tempered as Bob, Lucius does have his moments of getting worked up at times whether it comes to finding his super suit or watching the crappy animated short, Mr. Incredibles and Pals.
Final Verdict?
Yes. Because of his generosity and loyalty towards others, I believe that this guy might count as a Shonen Hero.

What's the Work?

Rebellious: Asura starts to rebel against Deus' force after being betrayed and killed by them. Asura also follows his own moral code.
Tragic Past: Asura was framed and betrayed by his seven fellow comrades, who kidnapped his daughter and murdered his wife. Asura is then killed and sent to Hell, therefore starting his journey of revenge.
Is a Blood Knight: Asura's wrath drives him to have a tendency of dealing with conflicts by fighting.
Verdict
I vote to Yes. Asura may not be a shonen because he is married and has a daughter, but he has the shonen traits in heart as he rebels against oppressors when he is oppressed, and he surprisingly meets many qualifiers.
The life of a black hero has never been for the meek of heart.
What is the Work?
We already know what The Boondocks is.
Who is the Candidate?
Huey Freeman is one of the two main protagonists of The Boondocks. He is voiced by Regina King, who also voiced his younger brother Riley.
What Makes Him a Shonen Hero?
Heroic/Honorable: Huey created a revolutionary plan to help the slaves to escape from Freedomland.
Courageous: Huey rarely hesitates to help innocent people in need.
Stubborn: Huey refuses to back down from a fight or a cause.
Pursues a Big-End Goal: Being a radical left-wing revolutionary, Huey wants to make a world a better place for his community despite the fact that almost no one around him wanted to change their ways for the better.
Hard-Working: Huey does all he can to make the black community lead a better path in life.
Possesses Plot Armor: Huey consistently manages to survive countless dangers.
Oblivious to Love: Due to being heavily focused on his activism as well as his own disinterest in romance, Huey doesn't seem to notice Jazmine's crush on him.
Short-Tempered: While nowhere near his grandfather Robert's level of irritability, Huey can have moments of being openly angry, especially when dealing with the stupidity and ignorance of the people around him.
Has a Rival: Huey has a rivalry with his brother Riley, as they sometimes fight each other, both physically and verbally.
Rebellious: Given that he is a left-wing revolutionary, Huey regularly goes against corrupt authority.
Verdict?
Weak-to-medium yes. I was somewhat hesitant in proposing Huey at first, but I want to give it a shot.
Well I guess it's about time someone proposed these two goofballs lol.
What's the Work?
Chainsaw Man is a manga series created by Tatsumi Fujimoto in late 2018. It is pubilished in the magazine Weekly Shonen Jump.
Who are the Characters?
Denji is the overall protagonist of Chainsaw Man, being a hybrid of human and devil which allows him to turn into the titular Chainsaw Man.
Power is a major character of Chainsaw Man, serving as one of the two deuteragonists for the Part 1 of the manga.
What Makes Them Shonen Heroes?
Denji:
Heroic/Honorable: While he initially does it for mostly selfish and superficial reasons, Denji has protected Tokyo from several devils, and as the manga goes on, he becomes more mature and kind with his actions.
Reckless: Denji doesn't usually think before acting, as a result he oftens just jumps head first into danger .
Energetic: He's usually very loud and abrasive, although as the story progresses this slowly dies down.
Stubborn: Denji refuses to listen to Aki when he tells him to leave the Security Bureau.
Pursues a Big-End Goal: His main goal is to raise the popularity of the Chainsaw Man so he can finally get laid. He also has the side goal of wanting to give Nayuta a normal childhood he couldn't have.
Hard-Working: Denji works hard to keep his job so he can keep living a "normal life", and also to provide a normal childhood to Nayuta.
Unintelligent: A much more tragic example, Denji never had any sort of access to education during his childhood, as a result he grew up as a very uneducated individual that lacks basic manners, and is almost illiterate.
Possesses Plot Armor: Thanks to being immortal, Denji is able to survive any fatal injury. He also gets revived by Pochita/The Chainsaw Devil at the beginning of the story, allowing him to become Chainsaw Man.
Spiky Hair: Denji has rather spiky hair, although unlike most examples it's likely due to him not treating his hair well.
Short-Tempered: He tends to lose his head pretty quickly when frustrated, which leads to his more berserk moments.
Has Rivals/Mentors: He initially has a brief rivalry with Aki upon joining the Security Bureau (which completely dies down after both become friends), and later has a much more straightforward one with the Katana Man. Denji was also trained to become a better fighter by Kishibe.
Big Eater: Denji really enjoys eating thanks to not having much food to eat while growing up, and will usually eat everything that is edible with pretty much no complaints.
Has an Idol: Denji initially worships Makima, but grows out of it after learning her true colours.
Mischievous: He enjoys pranking Aki during his free time.
Rebellious: After his experiences with Makima, Denji becomes a lot more reluctant when it comes to receiving orders, and typically hates being told what to do by men.
Tragic Past: His father was an abusive alcoholic with a huge debt to the Yakuza, and after his death, Denji ended up inheriting his debt, as a result he grew up poor with no parental figure, never went to school and surrounded by the Yakuza.
Is a Blood Knight: Denji can be downright bloodthirsty when killing devils, with his fight with the Eternity Devil being the most notable example.
Power
Heroic/Honorable: Being a part of the Security Bureau, Power has helped to stop many devil threats in Tokyo, with her most notable act being sacrificing herself so Denji could defeat Makima.
Reckless: Much like Denji, she also doesn't typically thinks before acting, and ends up jumping head first on danger with no hesitation.
Energetic: She's VERY loud, and even manages to beat Denji in this aspect as she's twice as hyperactive as him.
Pursues a Big-End Goal: Power’s goal is to win a Nobel Prize and become Prime Minister. She also wants to protect her cat, Meowzy, at any cost.
Unintelligent: Power is very scatterbrained and ditzy, and much like Denji she lacks basic manners.
Believes in the Power of Friendship: Power begins to really value her friendship with Denji, to the point she sacrifices herself for him, playing a key role in Makima's defeat.
Short-Tempered: She gets frustrated really quickly when things don't go her way.
Has Mentors: Much like Denji, she was trained by Kishibe to become a better fighter.
Big Eater/Drinker: Power really loves eating anything that isn't vegetables, and also enjoys drinking blood to the point she goes overboard with it.
Mischievous: Alongside Denji, she enjoys pranking Aki on their free time. She also has no qualms about pranking Denji himself.
Is a Blood Knight: In the most literal way possible, Power really enjoys drinking the blood of her enemies.
Veredict?
Pretty easy yes to both. Denji is a very big deconstruction of the Shonen Hero archetype, and Power herself also manages to fit it pretty well.
What is the Work?
The Boondocks is an animated Adult Swim original cartoon series based on the comic strip created by Aaron McGruder. It follows the Freemans, a black family consisting of the militant revolutionary Huey, rebellious wannabe gangster Riley and their cantankerous grandfather Robert, as they adapt to suburban life in Woodcrest, Maryland after moving from their home in Chicago.
Who is the Candidate?
Riley Freeman is one of the two main protagonists of The Boondocks. He is voiced by Regina King, who also voiced his older brother Huey.
What Makes Him a Shonen Hero?
Heroic/Honorable: Riley plays a key role in freeing the slaves from the slave-owning amusement park Freedomland. Despite his lifestyle as a wannabe gangsta, Riley has moral standards as, unlike Lamilton, he takes no pleasure in killing innocent people and does his best to avoid it.
Reckless: Riley rarely thinks before he acts and thus gets into situations without realizing the consequences.
Energetic: Riley is rather hotblooded and excitable.
Stubborn: Riley tends to be committed with his schemes despite being warned multiple times by Huey about the consequences of his actions.
Pursues a Big-End Goal: Influenced by mass media via rap culture and gangster films, Riley wants to live the thuggish lifestyle like the gangsters and rappers he sees in television.
Unintelligent: Though he is very street-smart, Riley is rather impulsive and makes stupid decisions.
Optimistic: While he can feel down at times, Riley manages to keep a positive attitude unlike Huey.
Possesses Plot Armor: Riley manages to survive several gun-shootings.
Has a Rival: Riley has a rivalry with his brother Huey, as they sometimes fight each other, both physically and verbally.
Has Idols: Riley looks up to various rappers, most notably Thugnificent.
Short-Tempered: Though not as irritable as his grandfather Robert, Riley can be impatient at times.
Mischievous: Riley commits delinquent acts for the fun of it.
Rebellious: Riley tends to disobey Robert's rules and often gets into legal trouble.
Verdict?
Weak-to-medium yes. While he commits a few heinous acts, he is still a sympathetic character with standards. With his hotblooded and stubborn personality, refusal to back down from a fight despite his poor combat skills and desire to live a life he finds fascinating, Riley is the closest the series has to a Shonen Hero, with Huey being already approved as a Seinen Hero.
I have to admit, he is an unconventional candidate.
🎵Life is unfair....🎵

Short-Tempered: While he isn't as prone to violence as Reese, Malcolm is rather impatient and irritable.
Big Eater: Being a teenager, Malcolm can be shown to have humongous appetite.
Mischievous: Like his brothers, Malcolm enjoys pulling pranks on anyone.
Rebellious: Malcolm not only disobeys his parents, but he also breaks school rules to stand up for a good cause.
Reese
Heroic/Honorable: Reese stops a burglar from robbing the house, which results in him being declared a hero by the police.
Courageous/Reckless: Reese can be brave when needed and is frequently shown to be reckless.
Energetic: Reese is rather hotblooded and adventurous.
Stubborn: Reese goes along with his plans despite being warned by others of the consequences.
Hard-Working: Despite not being as academically gifted as Malcolm, Reese can be diligent when he wants to be.
Unintelligent: While he is gifted in culinary and a clever prankster, Reese is very book-dumb and generally lacks common sense.
Optimistic: Unlike Malcolm, who is pessimistic, Reese finds the positives of life despite his failures.
Possesses Plot Armor: Reese manages to survive plenty of situations that most can't endure.
Oblivious to Love: Reese is slow when it comes to recognizing girls being attracted to him.
Short-Tempered: Reese is the most aggressive and violent of the family.

Verdict?
Yes. Given the show's main message of life being unfair, they have frequently been shown to endure any hardships throughout the series, even when they brought their misfortunes on themselves at times. Considering that many Shonen Heroes endure a lot of hardships to get where they want to be, it would be interesting to see these two fit right in this wiki.
I put a shock to your system!

What is the Work?
Bully is a video game produced by Rockstar Games. It centers around Jimmy Hopkins, a troubled teen who was dropped by his neglectful mother and new stepfather at Bullworth Academy after being expelled from several schools.

Tragic Past: Jimmy's birth father abandoned him when he was a little boy and his mother is a neglectful narcissist who got married many times and rather than dealing with her son's emotional issues with him, she instead drops him off at any school and let the staff handle him. This results in Jimmy becoming jaded and distrustful of anyone and forcing himself to fend for himself as well as becoming a delinquent.
Verdict?
I say yes. Unlike many Rockstar protagonists who are morally grey and more than likely fit the Seinen Hero archetype, Jimmy is an extremely unique case, since he fully redeems himself into a more traditional hero as the game went on.

Heroic/Honorable: Saitama has saved the world from countless villains throughout the series and, despite his thirst for thrill of a great battle, he prioritizes saving others before his own gain.
Courageous/Reckless: Saitama never shows fear when facing an opponent, no matter how much of a threat they pose.
Energetic: While he normally presents himself as an apathetic stoic, at his core, Saitama is actually a hot-blooded and thrill-seeking blood knight who wants to seek the excitement of fighting a worthy opponent who matches his strength.
Stubborn: Saitama refuses to let anyone toss him around or make him give up.
Pursues a Big-End Goal: After becoming tremendously powerful to the point of defeating his enemies with only one punch, Saitama thrives in fighting a worth opponent.
Hard-Working: Before the beginning of the series, Saitama trained himself for 3 years to become very powerful.
Unintelligent: Saitama is shown to be fairly book-dumb, as shown as he becomes a C-Class Hero as a result of receiving a C on a written test despite his high performance in the fitness test.
Possesses Plot Armor: Saitama manages to launches from the moon to Earth despite of a lack of oxygen.
Has a Rival: Speed o' Sound Sonic declares himself as Saitama's rival despite the latter not wanting to do with him.
Rebellious: Saitama refuses to abide with the social pecking order between the classes of Heroes.
Verdict?
Yes. While Saitama's story is a deconstruction of a shonen hero's desire to surpass his limits to the point of not having any more limits to break, it is still a hero's journey of finding what it means to be a hero.
