The life of a black hero has never been for the meek of heart.
What is the Work?
We already know what The Boondocks is.
Who is the Candidate?
Huey Freeman is one of the two main protagonists of The Boondocks. He is voiced by Regina King, who also voiced his younger brother Riley.
What Makes Him a Shonen Hero?
Heroic/Honorable: Huey created a revolutionary plan to help the slaves to escape from Freedomland.
Courageous: Huey rarely hesitates to help innocent people in need.
Stubborn: Huey refuses to back down from a fight or a cause.
Pursues a Big-End Goal: Being a radical left-wing revolutionary, Huey wants to make a world a better place for his community despite the fact that almost no one around him wanted to change their ways for the better.
Hard-Working: Huey does all he can to make the black community lead a better path in life.
Possesses Plot Armor: Huey consistently manages to survive countless dangers.
Oblivious to Love: Due to being heavily focused on his activism as well as his own disinterest in romance, Huey doesn't seem to notice Jazmine's crush on him.
Short-Tempered: While nowhere near his grandfather Robert's level of irritability, Huey can have moments of being openly angry, especially when dealing with the stupidity and ignorance of the people around him.
Has a Rival: Huey has a rivalry with his brother Riley, as they sometimes fight each other, both physically and verbally.
Rebellious: Given that he is a left-wing revolutionary, Huey regularly goes against corrupt authority.
Verdict?
Weak-to-medium yes. I was somewhat hesitant in proposing Huey at first, but I want to give it a shot.
